MEDIA RELEASE THE MOT CLUB: BUILDING PARTNERSHIPS IN THE COMMUNITY 1. MOT and ABC Radio The MOT clubs major project, funded by the Regional Arts Development Fund in 2013, will culminate in the broadcast of LOL FM an original two part comedy radio program, on ABC Coast FM on consecutive Saturdays April 5 and April 12 2014. The programs were devised by the group ,written and directed by Mike Foster and produced by the ABCs Peter Scott. 2. MOT and Gold Coast Little Theatre The Street is a location in any city .The characters are those weve all seen at one time or another -passing by... hanging out... waiting for someone-something to happen, sleeping, foraging, hiding, escaping reality, seeking meaning ,craving invisibility.... but we, the audience see them , become witnesses to their daily activities and interactions . The Street is Theatre of Images .....a visual, largely non verbal series of vignettes seen at different times of the day and night. Loneliness, desperation, persecution, violence, along with the gentle humour, the bizarre and the uplifting. Characters and situations of and from The Street are witnessed through the eyes of a watcher(The Audience) from various observation points. The show will be group devised and written by the cast of MOT members and is directed by professional director Dr Mike Foster The Street will incorporate Mime , movement, music (live and recorded), clowning ,visual projections and limited dialogue. MOT has negotiated with Gold Coast Little Theatre for a short residency in their Scarborough Street Theatre and will collaborate with the group members to produce the play on Thursday 24th and Friday 25th April at 8.00pm. MOT has plans to further develop to work with a view to production in different venues throughout 2014. These plans are contingent upon funding which is currently being sought . These unique partnerships exemplify the MOT club reaching out in an attempt at community building by raising awareness of the issues we are passionate about and in the process providing engaging ,meaningful creative activity for the disadvantaged and marginalised citizens who are our members. For further information contact Artistic director Mike Foster who is available for interview on any aspect of the project. email: artfozzy@hotmail MEDIA RELEASE THE MOT CLUB: BUILDING PARTNERSHIPS IN THE COMMUNITY 1.
