MEET FOZZY!! Fozzy, like Ozzie Osbourne, has groupies. A three-year-old Pit Bull mix, Fozzy (known as Gage at the shelter) arrived as a stray at the Chester County Animal Care & Control Shelter in South Carolina in mid-April. He quickly became a Facebook favorite with scores of likes, hundreds of comments and almost two thousand shares. All the buzz was generated by fans. One post said, “Please don’t let his life end.” The problem? Fozzy was heartworm positive and didnt have any rescue or adopter interest. In order to provide an incentive for a rescue to pull Fozzy, on October 12th, RADAR was asked to help with the cost of Fozzy’s heartworm treatment. RADAR immediately offered to assist. Fast and furious requests for a rescue and foster quickly filled Fozzy’s Facebook page. On November 1st, with just days left for Fozzy, a potential foster materialized, but no rescue. Then on November 5th, South of the Bully Rescue in North Carolina connected with the foster, and the next day Fozzy was pulled! He received his heartworm treatment on December 30th. Chester County animal advocate and photographer Emily Ward said this about Fozzy: “He is the complete package! A perfect little boy who wants to love and be loved. He loves to be in your lap. And Fozzy loves sunning and having his belly rubbed. He will fetch a ball with you, but prefers to chill out with you and enjoy the day. This guy is perfect; a total love who will do anything to please you. He loves affection and loves his treats. Fozzy is a very gentle boy who is good with all.
