MEMORIAL DAY: For many, today is a day off from work, a long weekend, a BBQ, or another day in the field. Yet, in America, this day, Memorial Day, is set aside as a national holiday to honor our war dead. While current losses are fewer in number, new military widows and widowers dot fewer neighborhoods, and wounded hearts may have found healing, let us not forget those who have helped establish and sustain a nation birthed for freedom, inspired through liberty, and founded on Biblical principles. This video is a fitting reminder of the great cost our nation has paid (Memorial Day – The Unknown Soldier by Church Fuel; vimeo/86141106). May we also remember the ultimate sacrifice. Two millennia ago, Jesus Christ gave His life as a sacrifice for all. Jesus stated, “Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.” (Bible reference: John 15:13 - NASB) His sacrifice makes way for unsurpassable freedom, unmerited salvation, and everlasting peace.
