#MEN #RELATIONSHIPS | Men Are Great Pretenders. Men are the hunters and women are the hunted. Crawling through the foliage of courtship, we camouflage our intentions and blend into the landscape of your expectations and desires. We are great pretenders. Like actors on a stage, we fake emotions and recite beautifully rehearsed lines that sooth and woo you. Like an army laying siege on a fortress, we’re patient as long as we know we’re going to get what want in the end because victory is assured. Our sincerity and innocence is like cologne, a sweet aroma we spray onto our bodies and into the air to merely mask the unpleasant odor of our less desirable characteristics and shady agenda. I don’t want to give the impression that all men are fake and harbor less than noble intentions. Good men do exist, but what’s tricky for a woman is trying to figure out who is the real deal and who is the great pretender. The good news is that human beings are flawed creatures, and because of this, the pretenders always end up being exposed. People can fake what’s on the outside, but what’s on the inside always comes out eventually. Like a politician caught in a lie, an actor that forgets his lines, or a hunter that stumbles over a fallen branch and scares away the deer, deceit is a difficult mask to wear and maintain. Good men on the other hand need not wear masks because they value honesty, trust, and through their character and actions, assure you that what you see is not an illusion. People’s true colors will always take a moment to shine through, and when they do, be prepared for what those true colors show you.
