He focused on six themes which he want to define Dubai in 2021: A city of happy, creative and empowered peopleAn inclusive and cohesive societyA preferred place to live, work and visit.A smart and sustainable cityA pivotal hub in the global economyA pioneering and excellent government. On Twitter Sheikh Mohammed said: “The first objective for the Dubai Plan 2021 is achieving people’s happiness. We have full confidence in those responsible to fulfill this goal.” He added: “The future is full of opportunities, yet challenges exist too. But facing the future with positive energy will always ensure the best. We will thoroughly monitor the plan’s implementation and measure the workflow through a set of KPI’s along the six main pillars.” According to the national news agency WAM, Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has directed all government departments to align their strategic plans with Dubai Plan 2021 to ensure consistency and synergy, the report released on Wednesday said. “Dubai 2021 is a city that puts people first. It is the highest priority for government of Dubai for the next seven years.” The strategy was prepared by the Executive Council, which included representatives from the government, the private sector and civil society, over the past 12 months, the report said. Secretary-General of Dubai Executive Council, Abdullah Al Shaibani said: “Dubai continues to flourish and rise, and launching Dubai Plan 2021 supports the city’s development, ensuring its sustainability.” Dubai Plan 2021 aligns with UAE Vision 2021 and the national agenda key performance indicators, and complements Dubai Strategic Plan 2015 launched by Sheikh Mohammed in 2007, the WAM report added.
