MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR! It has been a few days of crazy, and there is not much time to get on FB with 4 crazy kids at home! We had a very quiet and peaceful Christmas and New Year. Thankfully, Autumn made a speedy recovery from the parainfluenza virus that had us scrambling right before Christmas. We were able to go to clinic and get dosed with antibiotics and meds to hold off the need to go back to the ER on Christmas Eve or Christmas day for fevers. And after that, she was smooth sailing, enjoying her break from school! But they are all ready to go back tomorrow. (And so is mom!) I feel so thankful and blessed that we are another Christmas into this journey. Comparing pictures of last year, my heart is rejoicing that she has put up such a fight and has come so far! We are officially 18 months in, and on the home stretch, and it feels good. We are still waiting on the final results of the MRI, but feeling relieved since we have not heard anything thus far. As for the new year, we are looking forward to it! With it, 2015 will bring the end of treatment! I can’t believe that, God willing, Autumn will finish with chemo on Sept. 26, 2015. I am already mentally planning her “NO MO CHEMO” party that we are ALL looking forward to! I know that is a little ways off, but hoping it is here before we know it! As for the next few months, we are hoping for quiet, low key happenings. She will be starting some intense tutoring to help get “caught up” due to all the school she has missed. She is excited to start and, like the true champ she is, has embraced yet another change with spunk, love, and determination! We truly are so proud of her, and I am reminded daily of the blessing that it is to be her mom. As we head into the next month of treatment, please pray that she continues to feel well and fight hard. We also ask that you pray that her spirit stays positive. I ask because we have noticed that her hair is starting to fall out again and that is VERY frustrating to her! She has really enjoyed being able to put it up in a ponytail, so we are hoping things slow down, and it just thins. But we talked about how beautiful it is to be bald, and remembered all the fun hair bows and ties, hats and headbands and that helped. We hope you all had a blessed Christmas and enjoyed your family, friends and loved ones! We wish you all a very happy, healthy and blessed 2015! We continue to be amazed at the amazing love, support and prayers that have showered upon Autumn and our whole family during this journey! It is not one we could have walked without you, each and every one of you! Please continue to pray for grace, strength and peace, for us, and especially for Autumn as she walks this journey with a faith and a fight that never ceases! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! All our love!
