MESSAGE TO AMERICAN MUSLIMS You need to know : - When your sister, Dr Aafia Siddiqui, mother of 3 children, in unjustly convicted (with no real evidence) and sentenced to 86 years in jail !!! She has been in solitary confinement since 2003, which is unacceptable psychological torture and undignified treatment. - When your young brother, and fellow American citizen, Muhammad Soltan (26 years old), is in jail in Egypt. He went to visit his mother who had cancer and supported the non violent resistance against the military coup. He was arrested in the street and started a hunger-strike last January! Close to death... the world is silent and the American Administration does not care ! - When so many of your fellow citizens are mistreated and forgotten in jail for no reasons... You have to speak out : - When the world is silent and complicit, it is your duty to be informed, to speak out and to inform your fellow citizens and the world. How come the American Muslim organisations remain silent ? Why this silence? Why this fear? Is this the way? You must remember : - Your role is to reconcile the US with its own values of freedom, dignity, equality, and justice. When all these values are forgotten and lost because of dirty politics, geo-strategic and economic concerns, you have to remember your noble mission : serving humanity with dignity and confidence. It takes courage to speak the truth these days, but if your faith in God and peace means something, this should be visible in the way your resist injustice, repression and torture in all its forms.
