METHYLPHENIDATE TIED TO FEWER INJURIES IN CHILDREN WITH AD/HD. HealthDay (12/16, Haelle) reports that taking methylphenidate, a “medication for attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (AD/HD), might reduce the risk of young patients accidentally injuring themselves.” Researchers found that “when several thousand children and teens were taking methylphenidate...they were a little less likely to end up in the” emergency department “than when they weren’t taking the” medication.
