MGIMO SHINES AT 38TH MOSCOW «EDUCATION AND CAREER» EXHIBITION The 38th Moscow «Education and Career» exhibition took place at the «Gostiny Dvor» exhibition centre in central Moscow from 7 to 9 November, enabling Russia’s higher education institutions the chance to promote their courses and facilities to Russia school graduates, with MGIMO highlighted by a major stand and display. The exhibition opening featured a military band performance followed by welcoming speech from the Moscow Education Department deputy head, before a lively address from LDPR leader Vladimir Zhironovsky, and then some words from a Chinese delegation representative noting the increasing mutual interest of Russian students and Chinese higher education institutions, highlighting the presence of 17 Chinese higher educations at the exhibition. Aspiring future MGIMO students had their questions answered not only by academic and management identities, but also current MGIMO students. These enabled a thorough response to all queries about living and study conditions, the Unified State Examination requirements and additional examinations needed for access, and the range of languages available for study, as well as questions about sports and hostel facilities at MGIMO. The Moscow «Education and Career» exhibition, which takes place each spring and fall, is in its 20th year. It is planned with the assistance of the Moscow government Department of Education, the Moscow City Committee on family and youth affairs, and the Council of rectors of higher education institutions of Moscow and the Moscow region.
