#MH17: Malaysian transport minister Liow Tiong Lai says #Malaysia is convinced that the flight was shot down, after ascertaining that the plane did not deviate from its pre-approved flight path. Its team of MAS staff, rescue and medical aid workers have arrived in #Kiev alongside MAS CEO Ahmad Jauhari Yahya, with Liow himself headed there as well, although the team has yet to gain access to the crash site. More updates from it below: - Malaysia is deeply concerned that the crash site has not been properly secured, and by indications that vital evidence has not been preserved - MH17 had initially requested to fly at 35,000 feet, but was asked by Ukraine air traffic control to fly at 33,000 feet because of other air traffic in the area at the time. - The flight and its operators followed the rules, but on the ground the rules of war were broken. Malaysia condemns this brutal act of aggression - Liow - Malaysia also cannot confirm any information about black boxes being found, citing need to counter-check the details. - MAS asserts that it did not make a mistake flying the plane over eastern Ukrainian airspace. - Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak has met with next-of-kin in Kuala Lumpur, saying the government is working to expedite the return of their loved ones remains.
