MHW sponsored ICU inaugurated at BEJ hospital =>An ICU unit donated by the Mother Helpage World Wide (MHW) was inaugurated at Bone and Joint Hospital by the incharge superintendent, Dr Aijaz Baba today. Senior doctors including Dr Muneer, Dr Mahmooda, Dr Bashir, Dr Izna and others were also present the inaugural function. Addressing the inaugural function, Dr Baba thanked MHW for donating vital equipment to the hospital. MHW Country Manager said the medical fraternity and social organizations have to work together to improve patient care in Kashmir. The ICU equipment donated to the hospital include a high-tech ventilator , Air Compressor, Bloodgas Analayser with electrolyte, Monitor and a Syringe infusion pump were imported from Europe. The equipment was purchased for RS 28 Lakhs and the state government levied a tax of Rs 152000 lakhs. MHW was founded in 1994 at Anantnag by Capt (Dr) Sohail Nasti who is the incumbent CEO. Today it works in twenty countries across the globe and is affiliated to the UN. It is basically a disaster response group. The CEO in his message expressed satisfaction over successful completion of the project. “It is first Muharram and the Islamic year starts today. This ICU is a new year gift to the people of Kashmir from MHW,” he said. (CNS)
