MICHAEL BERNIER 13 QUESTIONS: Michael Bernier is a Chapman Stick player from New York. On his 2011 album Leviathan, he also performed violin, drums, and vocals. The album features Pat Mastelotto on drums, Kandy Harris on vocals, Caryn Fitzgibbon on violin, and Mike Schirmer on piano and bass clarinet. The music is influenced by 1980s King Crimson but adopts a hard rock approach with jazz tendencies and occasional atmospheric passages. NY Multi-instrumentalist, began playing drums at the tender age of 14 in his hometown of Huntington, Long Island, before eventually adding in guitar, Chapman Stick, bass, cello and tablas. Recently, Michael toured Europe, South America, Japan and the United States with STICK MEN, a project with King Crimson alums Tony Levin and Pat Mastelotto. Hes also played with such luminaries as Eddie Jobson, Marco Minneman, Trey Gunn, Simon Phillips and Greg Howe. Currently Michael is planning a tour of the material from a newest solo release.
