MICHAEL BROWN & THE UNFULFILLED IBO MANIFEST DESTINY - TopicsExpress

MICHAEL BROWN & THE UNFULFILLED IBO MANIFEST DESTINY (I hope you give your attention. I apologize it long). You may wonder what connection the Ibo has with Michael Brown, Trayvon Martin and all the rest. But lets get straight to the point. Did you know that 87% of the slave exported from the bight of Biafra were Ibos. Yh the Bight of Biafra for those of you who dont know has been from time immemorial the region of west africa along the coast in what is now present day South East/South South of Nigeria. It can be found in any 18th century map of west Africa. It was renamed Bight of Bonny as Nigerias means of exterminate the name Biafra from existence. Ibo captives were known to be very suicidal. In fact there is a site in Virginia know as the Eboe landing (yh eboe was the old spelling for Ibo). It is one instance of the many ibo suicidal attempts. You know I took a class in Transatlantic Slavery (text used The Slave Ship by Marcus Rediker) and it coincidentally it focused on the Bight of Biafra, and I felt so proud of those Ibos. They would rather die than be slaves. I admired them. Such courage. And there are those who did not commit suicide perhaps they never got the chance to and others who hoped that someday they would be free like the famous slave abolitionist Olaudah Equiano (aka Gustav Vassa) whose name is speculated to be Olaudah Equialuo from Isseke in present day Omambala (what is known as Anambra). Today some of those Ibos are perhaps the ancestors of Trayvon, Michael Brown and the many black people in the west who deal with the inhumanity of racism. You know I feel so guilty. So responsible. The fact that our ancestors traded our own brethren and look at the violence the inhumanity, the humiliation they are subjected to. Yh we may make excuses saying oh slavery in Africa was more humane than what Caucasian slavery was afterall Jaja of Opobo rose from slave to king but it does not change the facts that we are responsible. We put them on that slave ship. And they were brutalized, raped, and even when they set them free they did not accept them. They ostracized them (separate but equal). They lost their culture, their heritage, their values and the new world did not accept them. It did not give them a culture like the Arabs did (do you here of racism there). No they pushed away. Made to believe that they are dumb, second humans, and to kind of absolve their conscience they throw at them some affirmative action (charity), like it enough to redeem their ordeal. But the people perhaps are irredeemable. They have given up after all those years of being called the next to animal, somehow they are supposed to all of a sudden have ambition and be industrious. No they have lost desire, it why the black kid in America feels oh school is not for him. being an engineer, a doctor, a lawyer is not for me, i am dumb. After all who in his family history was one (is it not ironic that my dads first cousin Samuel Okoye from supposed leaves around waist Africa is the first black astrophysicist in the world and a black american who lived in America was not?) They have given up so all they do is desire to be rappers and basketballers because this society has told them that is all they can be good for. They have kids every where, their women baby mamas and live off food stamps and affirmative action because they do not care anymore. They have accepted their fate. They call them wild (akata) because they have no culture, no Omenala. It was destroyed when we put them on that ship. We utterly ruined them. I admire those of them who have overcome all the odds of their tragic history and have emancipated themselves to excellence. They are my super heroes. And for the rest I felt utter guilt and responsibility. Dim Chukwuemeka Ojukwu came to this realization in 1969 when he said Until a society, a virile society entirely black is established, the black man, whether he is in America, whether he is in Africa, will never be able to take his place side by side with the white man. We owe it therefore to Africa not to fail. Africa needs a Biafra. Biafra is the breaking of the chains. (see picture for full speech from World Civilization course textbook below in comments). But in 1970, we lost to the demonic construct of white imperialism called Nigeria. We failed them. We failed to give them a nation they could look unto an believe that they are human. One founded on African ideologies and not some imperialist nonsense as is the present case. We failed to give them a Biafra (note not the Biafra, for Ojukwu Biafra had become a cause not just of ibo resistance but with far reaching significance) a nation Ojukwu described thus: We in Biafra are convinced that the Black man can never come into his own until he is able to build modern states based on indigenous African ideologies, to enjoy true independence, to be able to make his mark in the arts and sciences and to engage in meaningful dialogue with the white man on a basis of equality. When he achieves this, he will have brought a new dimension into international affairs. Biafra will not betray the Black man. No matter the odds, we will fight with all our might until Black men everywhere can point with pride to this Republic, standing dignified and defiant, an example of African nationalism triumphant over its many and age-old enemies. The chinese have established a virile nation, the indians have established a virile nation, the latin americans are establishing a virile nation. They do not face racism as we do because they are proving their virility. Nobody is laughing at the chinese anymore. We the black people are the only ones who have no virile nation and are being told oh Dont worry we will recognize you as humans even when you have no virility to show for it. We are the only ones being told the bullshit of Oh you ought to be judged by the content of your character and not your skin color. We are the ones given affirmative action or charity and would expect the us to recognize us a virile after we take its charity. We will never be recognized as equal humans as Ojukwu explained, never. It lies on us to prove our own manhood, our own virility. In us breaking our own chains, and not begging whites saying Am I not a man, a brother? or crying on television to seek sympathy. The world has no sympathy nor does it empathy. Today I have decided to write to you my brethren sons of liberty. It is on our shoulders that this African burden has fallen on. Not just for the redemption of our own selves and the salvation of our childrens future but for closure for those blacks far and wide whom we are responsible for. Today the Biafran cause is still calling. Chinua Achebe, our great father, a man who spoke up for Africa in Things Fall Apart, Africas precious novel, has written to us, to our generation, asking us to go back and realize the big responsibility we face. He will not let death take him until he told the story There Was A Country. I am calling on you all to go back and probe your roots, your history, to stand up for the challenge ahead of us. People ask me why your profile picture, those are the babies of Biafra, they remind me of the cause which our parents fought for and we must fight for. And let me us this opportunity to address those piss of shit dumb ass one Nigerians who try to confuse us. They have no shame, no responsibility no bigger vision. Shameless idiots call themselves the Giants of Africa. Look how failed it is. This is the nation they killed hundreds of thousands of babies for in 1970 for. And they have the guts to attack us when we make an attempt to redeem our race and dedicate ourselves to a greater cause. It may appear that I hate Nigeria but I do not. You may not believe but I used to be passionate about it until after much study revealed what an opprobrium it was (see link below in comments for an interview i granted. I do regret everything I said. They were said in ignorance. I was only 17. I apologize). I am not the role model. Chimamanda Adichie perhaps is the only one today who lives the Biafran Dream. Like Achebe, she is the pride of the black virile cause. People recognize a human in her and if you followed her she is not afraid of standing for her black brethren (check out Americanah). I have dedicated my life to this cause. It is why I desire to be the best. I want to be what Dr. APJ is to India. I am not some noble soul. After staying in America and experienced all this - was arrested for stealing my own bicycle at 17, false accused and charged to court 19 and left to die in a hospital with 2 kidney stone at 20 all because I am black. I have experienced what it means to be black and I have signed up for this cause. The day it dies, is the day I die cause I live for nothing else. The Biafran nation, the black virile nation, will not say that it lacked a great scientist - Bsc. Mech Engr (summa cum laude), Bsc. Physics (summa cum laude) , Minor in Mathematics, And this is not good enough. I am far from being the best, and I am so working hard for it, so help me God. And I believe in the virility and potency of the Ibo. If I chukky did not give up then we should not give up on this cause on this dream on this believe, because we have an unfulfilled obligation. We have to be the best in our business, our industries, in our academics, in our everything. We must be ever dynamic, keep appreciating other ethnicities values and advancing them, because it is our duty (I am proud that we are the most dynamic - no Yoruba or Hausa can speak not to talk of rap in Ibo. But the reverse is innumerable). Yes I agree we are marginalized, the most hated of ethncities, but we must realize the bigger challenge ahead of us and look past the present hatred for our bounden duty to Africa. Maybe other ethnicities do not feel a responsibility, that is their problem. But we must let ourselves to be confused by what is our own destiny passed unto us by our parents. I will leave you with the prophecy of Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe: These things shall be; a mighty nation shall arise again in the West of the Sudan, with love of freedom in their sinew; and it shall come to pass that the Ibo shall emerge to suffer wrong no more and to rewrite the history written by their ancestors. It is the voice of Destiny and we must answer this call for freedom and respect in our lifetime. The God of Africa has willed it. It is the handwriting on the wall. It is our manifest destiny. Nigeria is about to fail. Thank God, we are not responsible. They who fought against Biafra as Achebe alludes in their stupidity are now responsible for its present collapse. We are in the beginning of the end of Nigeria. I challenge you to probe your history, the Ibo history, it is beautiful and its ideologies and philosophies are potent enough. Let us therefore prepare ourselves for our greater calling. Thank you.
