MICHELANGELO UPDATE!! He needs YOUR Support!! Remember our Sept. 25 post regarding the swan rescued from Frenchmans Bay? Sadly, after 2 weeks of recovery with a pinned wing, his bones were not healing as they should. Michelangelo had only one chance left ... we had to remove the dying wing! After this second surgery was completed, our beautiful boy was again placed in recovery. Over 100 stitches held his wing stub together and mended the many tears in his tissues. We cared for and encouraged him .. .and eventually moved him into a little water pond. SUCCESS!! Michelangelo is happy and healthy and has figured out how to balance perfectly again. As this gorgeous mute swan continues to recover, we need to have a plan for his future. He needs a permanent home with other swans where he will have indoor accommodation over the winter.
