MICHIGAN - You are on the verge of being a legal Hemp producing State again! The Governor has been given these 2 bills to sign this afternoon at 4pm and will hopefully sign both into law this week. Henry Ford will be smiling down on the State as they bring back this historic crop that can save our Planet, the People, and the State Economy of Michigan. Michigan needs jobs and a crop that will heal the soil. HB 5439- HB 5439 would establish the criteria necessary for Michigan universities and Agencies to participate in the federal hemp cultivation program outlined in the Agriculture Bill, signed this year in Michigan by President Obama. HB 5440- HB 5440 was sponsored by Rep. Peter Pettalia and features an astounding 64 sponsors. More than half of all Michigan House Representatives signed on to sponsor this hemp bill. It removes hemp from the designation of an illegal substance by segregating it from marijuana in the criminal code based on chemical composition: hemp is defined as cannabis sativa L. with THC concentration of 0.3%or less. This bill passed the House with a 108-1 vote.
