MIDNIGHT MUSINGS Walking in the SPIRIT: the ABIDING Principle, 2 Lets continue... ABIDE means: to remain; to continue; to stay. If you desire to walk in the Spirit, this principle IS POWERFUL!!! To be led by the Holy Spirit, there are decisions that one makes: 1. To be SPIRITUAL. To understand there is more than what is seen. The invisible is real. To ignore the unseen is to be carnal (and ignorant). 2. To be FAITHFUL. To venture into the spirit realm without a deep desire to follow the Lord is dangerous. When one enters the spirit realm (via prayer and fasting), not only do you have an encounter with God but also with evil spirits (ex. Jesus fast). So, how do I know I am following the RIGHT spirit? Jn. 1:32 will help us: I saw the Spirit descending from heaven LIKE A DOVE, and it ABODE upon him. • Saw the Spirit descending from heaven. To know the Spirit is lighting upon you, LOOK UP! Be JOYful in expectation!! •Like a DOVE. The Holy Spirit is gentle and will light upon your inner man. If you are not dead to self, you will not recognize the landing. • It ABODE. Moreover, since the Holy Spirit is like a dove, it can easily be driven away (as Prophet T.L. Smith once graciously taught me). So, one of the first ways that we can learn to be Spirit-led is to recognize when the Spirit lights upon us and to make room for it to ABIDE. As you learn to care for the dove of the Spirit through peace and gentleness, you will eventually be lead into deeper things of the Spirit. Are you ready??
