MILAN SHOW: MV Agusta launch touring 800 MV Agusta have releases another new touring model in Milan today, named the Stradale 800. The steel trellis frame is mated to a fully adjustable inverted Marzocchi fork, and a single-sided swingarm. While the motor is the much-used 800 triple, the chassis has been developed specifically for the Stradale, with a 1460 mm wheelbase, and a 870mm seat height. The screen is one-hand adjustable, the tank holds 16 litres of fuel, and the panniers are standard equipment. The 798 cc three-cylinder in-line engine has had a few tweaks to suit the Stradale, too. Maximum power is a claimed 115bhp at 11,000rpm, with 57.89lbft of torque on tap at 9,000rpm. The electronic MVICS (Motor & Vehicle Integrated Control System) marries the ride-by-wire throttle to four engine maps: the Sport map provides 115bhp, Normal offers 90bhp and a smoother throttle response, Rain means safety first and foremost, and there’s a custom option, too. The standard-fitment ABS has a Bosch 9 Plus unit equipped with RLM (Rear wheel Lift-up Mitigation), preventing the rear wheel from lifting off the ground under heavy braking, while the standard EAS 2.0 two-way quickshifter will make light work of stirring the ‘box. There’s no official confirmation of the UK price, but MCN expects it to be around £11,000 (€13,990), and available in the New Year.
