I make no apology for ranking it first, and I cannot conceive that in any civilized nation it could occupy a secondary position. And FDR thought up the ways to get congress to allow it - and they liked Harry also. Some hated FDR and Harry - but Churcill - old Winston he loved them both. Harry went to England for FDR to make the introductions - and they knew by Harry it was going to be a great friendship. We need more Harry Hopkins idealists - who want to do the good for the weakest among us - almost. These people can still work - and Harry is helping them do what they can - and rather than have no value from them - Relief is introduced to feed the muscle - exercise the worker left in Americans out of work - and get them back into the race for a working dollar. NEW DEAL legislation was about helping America work. Not about give aways. Harry and Franklin believed in Americans - not as bumps who wanted free stuff - though some were so down they needed checks - plain and simple. But some would have to work - because they wanted the respect of working - not free money. And FDR and Harry made that happen. GOP is not talking of any of this. GOP HAS NO popular working man heroes - the Democrats do. FDR was a working man - believe it or not - a government worker - able to put in more long hours and relax - get back to it early again the next day. Keep it in his head - and in public record. read FDRs papers from New York as governor in 1929 - 1932. Hes working all the time - and finding he likes working people. Smart powerful working leaders of industry - and the loyal people who serve them to make this country great in every industry . we need the great men and women to join forces - in a collected effort - to be the America our books indicate we have the capacity to achieve. but the world is not going to let us be left alone. They are going to want us to do some business for them sometimes - and we have debts to pay. For ISIS - how about paying off our deficit? :) Parts of it - Who is responsible for ISIS? Satan first. But after that? Evil in many places makes this group possible. We gave them guns. Saudis gave them money. You can tell us all about it. Court will find you guilty of murder. We could have been friends instead - and put down evil in your land together - and share our scripture with you - and our methods of supporting civilized society. Your sons will have to work at life in your stead. Your days are almost over as free men. Read Bibles in prison - if you live to see a prison Bible. There is more power in Christ than in all your other forces in your book. How do I know? Have you risen from the dead? Have you walked through a wall? Have you caught fish 153 at a time when none are biting? Have you healed a lame man? Made a blind man see? Healed a deaf man? Cured leprosy? Raised a dead son back to life for his mother? Healed a man you never actually met - at the specified time you said it happened? I know a Lord Jesus like this - with these powers - and a righteous Father God as His Father - who is now my Father - thanks to the power the Lord Jesus brought into my life - with the Bible - with the lessons God teaches with This His Book - this living Word of God. Amazing. And it could happen to Vladimir Putin - if God decided to call Vladimir. I pray that happens. In the Lord Jesus name. Amen. We need to talk to these people - instead of not talking. Stalin was easier to get along with after Harry Hopkins met him - and invited him to know FDR. Hopkins was always welcome to see Joseph Stalin for that reason. Harry told no lies. No extra promises - just fairness. Stalin was a monster. Something broken in his mind that he could hurt 20 million people of his own nation the way he did. But he kept his promises with Harry and FDR. Man is an evil bastard - unless Christ takes first place in mans allegiance - over greed. Over lust. Over sin.
