MINNEAPOLIS NOISE FREAKS: Ive curated a couple compilations in my time, and most of you know by now that Im a beast when it comes to producing physical cassette releases. Who wants to contribute to a MPLS MMXIV noise comp? Ill be asking for a small investment to cover production costs (tapes, photocopies, cases), but that investment will be tiny if enough people sign on. Heres how I work: the cost-of-production investment is based on total cost divided by total number of participants. Its egalitarian and cheap! Ill do all the heavy lifting (dubbing, packaging), so really youre just purchasing a share of the final product to use/distribute as you see fit. Dont worry: Im never making millions off your hard work. For a rough estimate of cost: 100 cassettes + 100 cases + s/h works out to just under $100. Thats $10 ea. with ten acts. If we cram enough people into this release, we can probably drive the cost down to $5 a band/artist/project. Could easily do a c100, or a multiple cassette release (maybe with those nice vinyl book-style cases). Granted, those are slightly pricier, but a triple tape release could equal something like 60 acts. Do the math. Get at me and lets talk shop. Tag your noise buddies that I dont know! Spread the bad news!
