### MINOR FLOOD THREAT FOR KATHERINE NT ### Initial Flood Warning for Katherine River Gorge Road Issued at 3:43 pm CST on Saturday 1 February 2014 Rainfall associated with monsoonal activity in the north west Top End has given totals around 100mm in parts of the lower Katherine River in the past 24 hours. This rainfall is causing rises in many of the streams in the lower Katherine River with continued rainfall contributing to river levels as well. Nitmiluk Centre Katherine River at Nitmiluk Centre is currently just below the Minor Flood Level for Gorge Road (3.0m) and rising in response to local falls. Predicted River Heights/Flows: Katherine River at Nitmiluk Centre: The river level is expected to exceed the Minor Flood Level for Gorge Road (3.0m) later this afternoon.
