MINUTES after shooting and killing a businessman in front his Cunupia businessplace, two bandits were themselves shot and killed by police during a shootout which followed a high speed chase yesterday. A third bandit surrendered to officers. Businessman Daren “Shane” Painter was shot in the head in front his businessplace along Southern Main Road, Cunupia. He died on the spot. Eleven spent shells were recovered near his body. However, Painter’s killers’ bid for freedom was short-lived when police units on instruction of Ag Snr Supt Johnny Abraham from Central and Southern Division joined in the search for the killers. As a police viper helicopter carried out aerial surveillance, police officers set up strategic roadblocks along several roads and along the Solomon Hochoy Highway.
