MLP season four review (spoilers): Very strong in some parts, but really a pretty weak plot. Like...this was the weakest opening in the series. It was all very exposition-y and backstory-y just so we could get to that box. And I love Discord, hes a great character, so why did they just use him to do nothing but make corny jokes?? Technically, it was awesome, the flashback scenes were great. LOVE the Celestia-Luna backstory, God that was GREAT. My head canon will still be Discord destroyed all the alicorns, I dont care what the show says! But really, the story lead to...nothing? I feel like well understand more as the series goes, but as an episode, it just wasnt fulfilling, and I feel like the rest of the Mane Six being there at all was just pointless. And the villain/opposing force was just...just stupid. Like, it totally would have been fine if there was an actual villain behind it, or an actual reason it happened, but it was JUST the vines and it ended up being totally pointless? I dont know. Not to mention, the constant attention to how Twilight couldnt fly ended up not being significant to the plot? Like, why mention like six times that Twilight is having trouble learning to fly if youre not going to use it at some point in the story to help her overcome that weakness? I think they could have done better for the opener. But the animation and the flashbacks were SO great. Also Twilie flying lessons, heeeee. ALSO, why is alicorn magic evil?? Any theories? ALSO ALSO, SONIC TWI BOOM, WHY?? -Energizer
