MOMENT MILE IS STILL A GO FOR TODAY. Heres info from the creative genius Sean Busher who came up this brilliant idea. Photographers_ Today is our big day! We just wanted to give everyone an update so read below and try to come to the Charlotte Chamber early if possible. --Weather-- We are aware that today will be rainy and rather cold. Luckily, most of the rain will be over by 4-5pm, and the forecast around our shoot time is calling for a 0-40% chance of rain (depending on the website). We are all concerned about our equipment and will not ask people to go out in a steady rain. However, the entire front is supposed to start breaking up around the time of our big moment, so please plan to come and tough it out with us, just make sure to dress warmly and bring an umbrella/poncho/plastic bag/etc just in case. --Special Needs-- For those concerned with having to walk a long distance we will provide a spot for you near the Charlotte Chamber building. When checking in today simply make that request and well be sure your needs are met. On the contrary, we would like volunteers to make the trek towards the northern end of Tryon Street, so please consider volunteering to make that longer walk. --Tripods-- Tripods are encouraged (but not mandatory) so that each person can set up his/her shot (composition, focus and exposure) and simply click the shutter button when the countdown hits zero. Since most people will be holding a phone in one hand to watch the countdown, itll be easier to get your shot with your camera on a tripod. --Capturing the Moment-- We will have mix of professional and amateur photographers participating today. If youre feeling a little nervous about getting a good shot then plan to team up with another photographer with more experience. This project is about creating community, which will be accomplished by having fun together and taking good care of each other, so please reach out to anyone you see needing assistance. In fact, were considering it each persons responsibility to make sure the person to the right and left of them in our line is present, properly exposed/focused, and aware of the countdown. Speaking of, there will be a few people without cell phones shooting, so they will need a visual cue from a neighbor as to when to click the shutter. --Come Early-- We will be checking everyone in as you enter the Charlotte Chamber, including providing information on each persons shoot location. If youre able, please plan to arrive as early as 4:30pm so that we can be sure to check everyone in by 5pm. --Permission Granted-- We want to make everyone aware that The Light Factory plans to publish, distribute, exhibit and otherwise utilize the photo youre taking today. In fact, its our wish to find a large corporate donor to purchase the final print in order to raise funds for The Light Factory. By participating today you are granting The Light Factory the ability to use your images in this way free of charge. However, copyright will remain with each individual photographer.
