Uganda deserves a leader of this generation. Somebody not above 40 years of age! A civilian elected in a free and fair election! preferably not from the same tribe and region that has been in power in the last quarter of the century!! That’s why we are raising pressure for comprehensive reforms that will level the ground for free and fair elections. Among the political reforms we advocate for are: A competent and neutral Electoral commission A transparent electronic voting system Downsizing the Parliament A non partisan army Removal of the Military representative from parliament Demilitarize the Uganda Police leadership Restrict keeping law and order during election campaigns and on the Election Day to Uganda police Criminalize and deregister and political party or individual the will us state facilities for political gains Criminalize election bribes and votes buying and deregister political parties or candidates involved in such malpractice. Guarantee equal access to media and state facilitation to all political parties and independent candidates. Immediate lifting of the current disguised ban on freedom of: assembly, association, demonstration and press. Voting rights for the Uganda Diaspora. More being discussed with all stakeholders. You can propose what other reforms you think are necessary for making the next election free and fair! We are brainstorming!
