MOMMY RANT: I can hardly leave the house without a well-meaning romanticizing mother (of grown children) saying to me your kids are so little, soak it all in, enjoy it, it goes by so fast. Yes, how very sobering and true that is - however, I find that advice to be entirely unhelpful. I usually just play along, but inside Im thinking to myself, instead of further burdening a sleep-deprived exhausted young mom with another emotional chore, how much more appropriate would it be if this person would realistically remember their own season in the sweatshop of raising small kids and say something encouraging like i remember those days, I felt like I was paying for my sins. This thankless job you are doing is amazing. You are wonder woman. Now that would be refreshing. With that said, Im thankful for you ladies out there who say it like it is. :)
