MON 03/02/2014 INABILITY TO DIE TO YOURSELF Gal5:19-21; Luk9:23 The issue of flesh is so minute but it can take you to hell. Until your flesh is conquered, you cannot become anything in the hand of God. A man who refuses to die to his flesh cannot be blessed of God. You don’t teach a child to lie; it is the self in him. Self is naturally born in the life of every man; you must consciously and deliberately kill it. You don’t need any body to tell you that this is the work of a carpenter, a tailor or a printer by their fruits you shall know them; so also the works of the flesh are very evident in a man; you can’t see them physically but they are at work within you. When you are now exhibiting the attributes of self, we know that self is still controlling you. It is self in you that leads you to Comparison; that makes you think that your mates are by- passing you. Until you are able to die to that flesh, you may not be able to make a head way Luk9:23-”And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me” To deny yourself is to forget about yourself, deprive yourself, abandon yourself, disown yourself, reject yourself, to have a lesser degree of love towards yourself, in other words, to hate yourself. When you are still concerned about yourself, you can’t follow God. When you still love yourself, God cannot be in love with you John 12:25. It is flesh in you that stops you from attending fellowship or from serving because you are been rebuked either privately or publicly. When flesh emerges, you are uncontrollable. So minute but it can take one to hell. The more you die to your flesh, the greater the presence of God backing you up every day. The greatest sin on earth is selfishness. I am this, I am that, everything is I, me, my. Men that God use greatly are men of “you” not “I”. If you don’t crucify flesh, you can’t display Christ. It is flesh that gets you angry, makes you proud, makes you jealous, wants to always be at the top, gets angry when you see others succeeding, makes you compromise, makes you eat your tithe, etc. Let the flesh be dealt with and allow God. PRAYER POINT: - Lord I come against every activity of the flesh in my life today in Jesus name; the flesh will no more prevail over the Spirit of God in my life BIBLE READING PLAN: Gen34:1-31; 2Chron32:1-33; Jer19:1-15
