MOORE AND MURRAY BACK FOR SHARKS SOLWAY SHARKS have re-signed Ross Murray and Steven Moore, who have agreed to return to the Sharks as they continue to build their team to defend the league and cup titles from last season. Both players were an integral part of the double winning team from last year and are sure to play just as big a part in the new look Sharks team in the season ahead. Moore was a standout performer for the sharks last season and the highly skilled forward contributed 29 points on his way to the most improved player award and coaches merit award. Murray contributed 17 points and the understanding that him and Moore developed was vital in some big games and they will both be expected to contribute more again this season. Coach Martin Grubb was understandably happy with his latest recruits and said: "I am delighted to welcome both Steven and Ross back for another season. "They were both big players for us last year and although lots of people will look at the bigger point getters these two were definitely two of our best overall players. "They are the best penalty killers in the league in my opinion and they shut down so many teams top lines whilst still coming up with key goals and in this league players like these two are invaluable. "Ross gives us a bit of toughness and does the dirty jobs well and works hard in the corners and in front of the net and he improved last year as the season went on. "Moorey was outstanding last year and his speed and skill will cause any team problems but he is also one of the most responsible forwards defensively that we have. I am looking for even more from these two this year and have no doubt I will get it." Murray will be back wearing his familiar number 90 and was happy to return. He said: "I am happy to be back again next year and will be looking to build on the trophies we won last year. "I enjoyed being back after some time in Canada and I want to continue to do the job I’m asked to do by the coach." Moore will continue in the number 75 shirt and said: "I am delighted to return for another season in Dumfries. "I really enjoyed last season and am determined to continue improving under Martin and really enjoy the spirit we have in our dressing room. "It was nice to be recognised with the awards last year and I will be looking to repay the fans with an even better season."
