MORNING MIRACLE MESSAGE: 07-07-2014 Prepared by Pastor Charles Chanda DIFFICULT INSTRUCTIONS THAT BRING BLESSINGS SERIES 5 Matthew 17:27 Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea, and cast an hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: that take, and give unto them for me and thee. DIVINE SOLUTIONS TO FINANCIAL CHALLENGES Matthew 17:24-27 And when they were come to Capernaum, they that received tribute money came to Peter, and said, Doth not your master pay tribute? 25 He saith, Yes. And when he was come into the house, Jesus prevented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute? of their own children, or of strangers? 26 Peter saith unto him, Of strangers. Jesus saith unto him, Then are the children free. 27 Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea, and cast an hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: that take, and give unto them for me and thee. Reality of Financial Challenges! Matthew 17:24 And when they were come to Capernaum, they that received tribute money came to Peter, and said, Doth not your master pay tribute? Sometimes people think that the more spiritual you are the more immune you are to life’s challenges. Here we have a case of the Lord Jesus Christ whose Father owns the silver and gold in the whole universe not having cash at hand to attend to the immediate need. It is not a sin not to have cash at hand to attend to immediate needs and hence the attitude that certain believers have towards other believers does not speak well of their Christian confession and convictions. I wish to encourage all those who have financial challenges not to think as if something horrible has happened to them but to remain steadfast and believe God for the solution. Don’t panic and don’t be afraid. God is aware of your situation. If Christ faced this challenge, then who are we? Acts 3:6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. The lack of cash in the life of Peter continued but this did not discourage him from doing the work of God. The Lord did not leave money for his disciples to do the work of God with but left power for them. This must be a lesson for all ministers of the gospel. Get the power of God in your life so that you can empower souls. Concentrate on empowering souls and the issue of tables will be attended to. Practical Prescribed Solutions to Financial Challenges Faced by Saints! Matthew 17:27 Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea, and cast an hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: that take, and give unto them for me and thee. For Christ and Peter, the money was needed immediately and therefore there was no time to start doing business to raise the money. Jesus sent Peter to the sea and gave him instructions that the fish he was going to catch first would have a coin and not coins in the mouth. Peter went at the instructions of the Lord and it was exactly as the Lord had said. Praise the Lord there is cash to attend to our immediate needs in Jesus Name. There are a number of lessons for you and me here to learn: 1. We must live by faith in Christ’s anointed word. Peter believed the word from Christ, and acted as instructed. Peter would not on his own go to the sea and start looking for coins in the mouth of the fish because he was a fisherman and throughout his entire fishing career, had never found a single coin inside but sold the whole fish to get coins. This show you and me that this was not an easy instruction at all. When you hear the word of God, learn to put it to practice as you may never know which one may be the key to the solutions to your life’s challenges. 2. Jesus used this not to make Peter to start a new fishing career of checking for coins in the mouth of every fish but to focus on fishing men who must have coins in their mouths. This is interesting to me. Its not every fish that will have a coin in the mouth but selected ones. Matthew 4:19 And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. Mark 1:17 And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men. Matthew 13:47 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind: Do you realize that every born again believer is a fish and as such must have coins in the mouth to take care of the welfare of Christ and his servants. 1 Corinthians 9:14 Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel. Ministers of the gospel must be supported so that gospel work can be carried out without any hindrances. Acts 20:34 Yea, ye yourselves know, that these hands have ministered unto my necessities, and to them that were with me. Sometimes we ministers find ourselves in such a situation where there is no support from any where and we have to labour for our necessities though that is not what God wants. Jesus told Peter and others to follow him and hang up the trade of fishing. I have found myself in the situation of Paul where though I had hang up my fishing to serve in the church, my church just abandoned me on a mission field and stopped giving me the little allowance and I have labored with my own hands for the past thirteen years. I find joy in serving the Lord and have no hard feelings for those who made such hurting decisions of not caring. I know that a day will come when my time will be fully consecrated on doing the work of Christ without the going back to fishing. You reading can be that fish God may use to release me to fully focus on ministry 3. God will not neglect his children who have financial challenges. LET US PRAY! Father in the Name of your Son the Lord Jesus Christ, I bring every child of your who is experiencing financial challenges that you send divine help this day in Jesus Name. I pray especially for your servants who are serving you in the midst of financial hardships that you send fish to them that has coins meant to meat those need in Jesus Name. Help you servants not to be lazy in the work of evangelism as that’s the only way you can bring fish to them that would be a solution to their needs in Jesus Name. Thank you Lord for the answer.
