MORNING NEWSFLASH. Looking briefly at Wor Diary - an annual publication for charity, with daily notes on north east life - I came across a reference to the minutes, about a meeting which took place this very week, way back in 1966. The notes belonged to the then Tyneside Youth Against the Bomb group, who later changed their name into Tyneside Vietnam Action Committee. Bear with me if you can. as here one angle comes!!!! Down from the Bridge Hotel all swaggering in song, Fifty loyal supporters of the bold old Geordie Gong. When gannin inti action came a shour from out the rear. Afore we fight the bosses, lads, lets have a pint in here. Aye, typical of Northumbrian action on the move, and reminded me of the great Alex Glasgow song...............the Revolution Starts at Closing Time. .............that would be reet!!!!!!!! except in that song, neebody can be arsed by closing time, so there is no rebellion. Worth a listen to, that song, by the way. bry!
