~ MORNING PRAYER • Opening Sentence Send out your light and your truth, that they may lead me, and bring me to your holy hill and to your dwelling. Psalm 43:3 • Collect of the Day: Pentecost, proper 18 Grant us, O Lord, to trust in you with all our hearts; for, as you always resist the proud who confide in their own strength, so you never forsake those who make their boast of your mercy; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen. • A Collect for Guidance Heavenly Father, in you we live and move and have our being: We humbly pray you so to guide and govern us by your Holy Spirit, that in all the cares and occupations of our life we may not forget you, but may remember that we are ever walking in your sight; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. • For Mission O God, you have made of one blood all the peoples of the earth, and sent your blessed Son to preach peace to those who are far off and to those who are near: Grant that people everywhere may seek after you and find you; bring the nations into your fold; pour out your Spirit upon all flesh; and hasten the coming of your kingdom; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. • • A Collect for Guidance Heavenly Father, in you we live and move and have our being: We humbly pray you so to guide and govern us by your Holy Spirit, that in all the cares and occupations of our life we may not forget you, but may remember that we are ever walking in your sight; through Jesus Christ our Lord. We hope hearing Indelible Grace singing their version of George Matheson’s great hymn “O Love That Will Not Let Me Go” will do that for you today. The story behind Mathesons hymn may be found at lectionary.org/HymnStories/O%20Love%20that%20Will%20Not%20Let%20Me%20Go.htm.
