MORNING THOUGHTS I am convinced that the greatest gift of God - TopicsExpress

MORNING THOUGHTS I am convinced that the greatest gift of God is the ability to love people the way Jesus did and still does. The enemy does not want people to know how much God loves them. He will go to any length to prevent this. Sad to say, his greatest tool to prevent people from knowing Gods love is Christians. Now Im not bashing Christians or the church. Im just being gut wrenching honest here because I personally know this to be true. How? Because I have been used by speaking a critical word. Prejudging others. Considering my needs more important. Wanting the praise of others. Withholding good from others when it is within my ability to help. Trying to win the argument. Trying to do things that will garner the praise of man. Memorizing and quoting scripture to impress or convince others of my “godliness.” This list can go on. The bottom line of it all is a self-centered heart. Its all about me. Go to a Christian bookstore and you will find an abundance of “All about me” books. Ive read many until I realized how they contributed to my self-center heart. Now because of the grace and mercy of God Ive come a long ways over 31 years as a Christian. Ive experienced God in some incredible ways but now I have one desire... to love people as He does. You will never experience the true presence and anointing of Jesus without first having His love for people. Galatians 5:6Amplified Bible (AMP) 6 For [if we are] in Christ Jesus, neither circumcision nor uncircumcision {works} counts for anything, but only faith activated and energized and expressed and WORKING THROUGH LOVE. John 13:34-35 (MSG) 34-35 “Let me give you a new command: Love one another. IN THE SAME WAY I LOVED YOU, you love one another. This is how everyone will recognize that you are my disciples—when they see the love you have for each other.” Think about this. The first century church had a powerful impact on their world. Why? Well yes they had an outpouring of the Holy Spirit in their hearts which ignited their fire. But lets look at what happened in response to what happened. Peter proclaimed the message of hope and 3000 were saved and the love of God permeated their society. I love the way the Message version puts it: Acts 2:46-47 And all the believers lived in a wonderful harmony, holding everything in common. They sold whatever they owned and pooled their resources so that each person’s need was met. They followed a daily discipline of worship in the Temple followed by meals at home, every meal a celebration, exuberant and joyful, as they praised God. People in general liked what they saw. Every day their number grew as God added those who were saved. The people took care of each others physical needs. The believers met together in the Temple every day. They ate together in their homes, happy to share their food with joyful hearts. They praised God and were liked by all the people. Every day the Lord added those who were being saved to the group of believers. There greatest witness to the world was “Their love for one another.” A selfless life! Now am I down on myself or am I writing this to gain any praise of humbleness? NO! I appreciate the “Likes” and the comments on my post. Its encouraging. All I ask is for you as my brother and sister to just think about what Im saying. The following are a list of one another verses that I pray you would take the time to meditate on and pray for God to plant in your heart. With HIS love I love YOU!
