MOUTH ODOUR Mouth odour has gradually become one thing we live with in our society. Mostly among friends, peer groups, families and even in the society at large. It has become part of the NORMS Some people will open their mouth to say hello and ALAS! Ten thousand will fall on your right hand side and another ten thousand will fall on your left hand side. Some people mouth odour can HALT a moving vehicle and some can serve as insecticide helping to kill mosquitoes and cockroaches. I came to the realization that most times our best or close friends have mouth odour and as their friends, we cant seem to develop the courage to politely tell them that their mouth stinks (makes me wonder, what are friends for if we cant tell ourselves the truth) Come to think of it, sometimes our Boss and even lecturers and our pastors or pastors wives have mouth odour BUT how can we politely tell them, excuse me sir/ma, with all due respect, your mouth is smelling. without getting them angry? A friend of mine politely told his boss that he has mouth odour and the boss got angry saying and I quote, how dare you tell me my mouth is smelling. Even if its smelling other staff have been living with it like that (AHA! Thats the point.) in fact, you are fired! And so, I begin to ask myself should we just go ahead and buy mouth wash or mint sweet and package it as gift for them because of a truth, some mouth odour can REALLY cause HAVOC and CHAOS! So, how can one politely tell friends, elder ones and senior colleagues that their mouth stinks without offending them? PLEASE whats your opinion and possibly your advice?
