MOVIE REVIEW “THE INTERNSHIP” [3.75/5] ... bit.ly/175XSt8 Believe it or not, it’s actually been 8 years since Owen Wilson & Vince Vaughn teamed up for “Wedding Crashers”. And let’s be honest, neither of them has had a film anywhere near as big since. But for me, it’s great to see them back together, as there’s just something about their chemistry. No, this isn’t in the same league as Wedding Crashers. And yes, there were a few too many flat spots. But overall, if you’re a fan of Wilson & Vaughn together, I think you’ll find far more to love than hate. As you’ll see from the trailer, they play Nick & Billy, two superstar watch salesmen who find themselves out of a job. So seemingly with no other options, they somehow manage to be in the running for internships at Google. The Internship is essentially a 2-hour fish out of water flick, where two old dogs who are forced to learn a ton of new tricks also manage to teach the tech-reliant Gen Y’s a thing or two. Actually it’s a bit like a fast food meal - it hits the spot & will leave you feeling mostly satisfied at the time of consumption … but several hours later, you’re unlikely to dwell on it too much. The film isn’t trying to make a statement. It’s simply offering a fair quota of laughs in exchange for 2 hours of your time. Think “Wedding Crashers” meets Rodney Dangerfield’s mid-80’s classic “Back To School” … you could do far, far worse.
