MPs took a very interesting fracking tour yesterday. I impressed by the story of Sanjel - a three-person family company from my home town of Lloydminster that is now a large international fracking company with a strong environmental commitment. Natural Resources Minister Greg Rickford examines the outcome as Sanjel R&D manager Dr. Sally Lawrence shows the substances in everyday products that turn the sand to a gel so it can be pumped down the well, and the vinegar-like liquid that makes it runny again. Cool! If it doesnt have an environmental improvement, we dont do it, says Sanjel president Darin MacDonald.
