MRI results came in.. not what we wanted to hear but nothing we can do about it. Owen suffered a stroke in his right upper lobe in his brain sometime after his first heart surgery when he was down in CCCU. His artery in his neck that goes to his brain is narrowed from it and will have to be reopened during his Glenn surgery on thursday. We were told this could have an affect on his movement skills, retaining memory, and issues with emotional and sensation feelings.. A doctor from neurology will be by at some point to talk with us and Owen will have therapy throughout his life working with him and us to help him achieve his milestones and to continue working on the things he is weak in. We were also notified that this second surgery happening on thursday could result in Owen becoming very critically ill as he is a special single ventricle baby and we have been here longer than normal. This could result in us being in hospital much longer after his Glenn and him staying in critical care for a longer period of time. Time will tell and God has a plan! Please keep Owen in prayer that he will beat the statistics and he will be stronger than ever after this surgery so we can go home!
