MSM BLAST - Main Street Martinsburg “Festival of Banners” Dear Artist, On behalf of the Board of Directors and myself, I want to take this opportunity to thank you for participating in years past with our annual “Festival of Banners” project. “Festival of Banners” is one of several Main Street Martinsburg actions aimed at revitalizing the historic downtown. The banners bring color to the downtown, encourage the public to view art, showcase your talent and serve as a stimulant for the arts in the community. It is interesting and educational to see how different each banner transforms when all of you started with the same canvas. This year we will be offering you the opportunity to display your art on the street again. (24 inches by 68 inches long) Banner that will be hung from the light poles of Queen and King Streets. These banners will stay in our Main Street collection and will be displayed each year along Queen and King Streets. This year there will be no auction on the banners. Attached are the guidelines and Artist release form. Please submit your drawings on a regular 8 ½ by11 sheet of paper both sides. Banner artist release form and Artwork drawings must be submitted to the Main Street office by Friday, March 14, 2014 One week after applications are received artwork will be juried.
