#MSwx - Good Evening Mississippi! Thick clouds have held our temperatures back this afternoon with highs only climbing into the low-60s. Where we saw a few peeks of sun to the south of the metro, temperatures climbed into the low-70s. As we head into the overnight hours, well see a few lingering showers here and there, but the weather will remain mostly calm. Patchy dense fog will settle in tomorrow morning area-wide as warm, moisture rich air pushes in from the gulf. That fog will lift by the late morning hours, but expect mostly cloudy to overcast skies throughout your Tuesday. By lunch time, a second area of low pressure pushing our way from East Texas will strengthen and move in. That will trigger several a good round of heavy rain and thunderstorms, some of which may become severe. I think the main threat for damaging winds and a few isolated tornadoes will be limited to the Pine Belt, Gulf Coast and southern Alabama. We could certainly see a few strong and severe storms here in the Capital City as well, but I think better chances for the inclement weather are elsewhere. The storms will begin to move out all together by lunch time Wednesday, and well see mostly clear skies and a stiff northerly breeze by early Thursday morning. Well start Christmas Day with lows in the low to mid-30s so bundle up as you head out Christmas Morning. Highs for the big holiday will hit the low to mid-50s with plenty of sunshine.
