MUHAMMADU BUHARI !! Yesterdays siege on the National Assembly was an affront to the rule of law and the principle of separation of powers. The framers of our constitution have in their wisdom enshrined legislative independence in order to protect the three arms of government from each others excesses. This executive rascality and police thuggery as displayed by the presidency, the ruling party and the Nigeria Police Force is uncharacteristic of a democratic setting and does not augur well for our progress towards genuine democracy and nation building. Nigerias past political crises were largely precipitated out of an executive-legislature face-off and our country has paid dearly for those insanities whose scars still remain visible to this day. There is no doubt that the Jonathan administration is deliberately dragging Nigeria towards the abyss in order to bury its scandalous incompetence beneath the debris of a national upheaval. We will do everything to stop this descent to anarchy and lawlessness whether in Abuja or Ekiti State. We will not allow the legacies of those who toiled to unite this country to be torn to shreds by those who place their personal interest above common national good. It is time those who have the regimes ears call it to order. Nigeria is bigger than any individual or political party, and no individual or partisan agenda should be allowed to flourish at the expense of Nigerias peace, unity and stability.
