MULTITASKING and the DARING DARLING LADY Many functions performed by just one body at the same time. A simultaneous execution of many tasks. My pen has sneaked out of my pocket and bag for as many countless times as I cannot remember, but my camera hasnt betrayed me for a minute except if I was plying between the clouds and the sky where I couldnt re-energize it. Yet, I havent captured a humane shot like this one. Im not insinuating that I have recently been on a vertical trip to Mars. Lay aside the caption on this rare breed of a photograph and consider the tactful multitasking shown by the elite cyclist. Her unique show on two rolling wheels pre-empts the definition of a full-fledge multitasking scenario. There are four critical matters of concern for this brilliant madam. Firstly, the rough road; despite her load, she had to bear in mind other users especially notorious motorists. Secondly, the bike; she has to pedal and balance it despite the distance to be covered in the harsh sun. Thirdly, the cyclist herself; she has to make her day productive despite the uncommon chore glaring at her. Fourthly, the large drum and all its hollowness; it is the actual subject that caused the lady to leave her home and do the onerous journey. Perhaps without the drum she wouldnt have left the house and risk to steer with one arm and fasten the partially loaded container with the other. Fifthly, the space above and beside a century-old drum; sizing is the ticket to get to the destination here. So sizing and balancing are her best friends or worst enemies depending on how this journey ends. That is what we can discern with our eyes. But confidence is what she owns. And confidence owns her. Period. How? Shes in her loose dress belted with a kanga/leso. Her admirable originality makes a milestone difference to her task. Thus far, shes determined and sure to deliver on the multi-pronged duty. This courage leaves even the masculine cyclists jaw-dropped in shock. I can so very much imagine the song tunes she may be humming or whistling in her untiring zeal to boost her pedaling, balancing and sizing morale. I can imagine one other thing - a husband that saw this unique heroine aboard the bike and the loaded drum aboard her head would later on that day be having a serious talk with the madams who, years back, raided their hearts for love but have not wished to have a commando for a wife. The ability to multitask is another method of checking mental health, aptitude and intelligence. This particular cyclist could have another one added to her record and it would be none other than ingenious. You can never be confident unless you confide in yourself and build your own confidence. Rocket science is neither here nor there, instead it is in what you decide to do and doing it assuredly with the power of you own mind and body. The spirit is never weak, its the body even Jesus Christ said it to His twelve sleepy male appointees in Gethsemane.
