MUSIC ABOUNDS AT IMMANUEL!!! See how to get involved today! Members and Friends, It’s that special time of year when our music ensembles regroup, start rehearsals, and plan musical offerings for autumn and Christmas. We are thrilled to collaborate with musicians—encompassing different levels of training and motivated by diverse styles of music—who connect with God and each other through inspiring music. Immanuel continues to grow and thrive under God’s faithful guidance. Immanuel’s new faces and growing membership provides the opportunity for new participants and continuing members alike to get involved in new and exciting ways. We hope to launch a new traditional choir that spotlights the Classic Service (8:15AM) primarily. The ensemble will embrace church tradition by singing classic repertoire that inspires listeners and turns hearts towards God. Likewise, a Contemporary Choir—that sings primarily for second and third service (9:45 & 11:07AM)—would be implemented that emphasizes contemporary choral music. My expectation is that these fresh new ensembles influence new members to join who can only commit to singing at one service, or who prefer to sing a specific style of music. We need your help in determining if we are ultimately capable of effectively sustaining both. Let me know if you are interested or have questions so I can plan accordingly. Please help spread the invitation to new members, cherished longtime members, and even non-churched community members who love to sing, or play instruments. We encourage newcomers always and welcome your participation. These are the current groups we offer: Youth Praise Team: provides teens 5th through 12th grade a way to connect with God through fresh, dynamic worship music, teens gain vital experience in church leadership and are offered a venue to cultivate their growing musical talents, rehearses Wednesday evenings at 5:30PM Jubilate: choir intended for ALL singers, regardless of musical training, sings anthems to God monthly often highlighting the liturgical calendar, rehearsals are open to ALL and occur Wednesday nights at 6:45PM, may spilt into two choirs as mentioned above Bells of Immanuel: rings recognizable church music, including traditional repertoire, classical sacred literature, and more recent compositions, no musical training is necessary, rehearse on Sundays from 9:15-10:15AM downstairs in the music room, director Ellen Hanson leads the group, [email protected] Praise Team: members vibrantly lead contemporary worship songs each week at 9:45 and 11:07, help lead special services throughout the year, represent Immanuel in the community, weekly rehearsals are Wednesday nights at 8:00PM, musical training is necessary, members are required to attend rehearsals In addition, our beloved children sing during Sunday school and present special songs throughout the year. There is truly a group for everyone to get involved in. I encourage your feedback and welcome your help in reaching out to new members, especially with our new choirs! Please reach me by email at johndavidivan@yahoo , at church, or on my cell at 262.620.2349. Thanks for your prayers and continued support! “Next to the Word of God, music deserves the highest praise. The gift of language combined with the gift of song was given to man that he should proclaim the Word of God through Music.” (Martin Luther) Yours in Praise and Worship, John Ivan Director of Music Ministries
