MVSU Receives Bomb Threat Mississippi Valley State University has cancelled classes for Thursday evening and all day Friday as a precautionary measure after receiving a bomb threat earlier today. The bomb threat included the Mississippi Valley State University campus in Itta Bena and the Leflore County Civic Center. All campus buildings and the civic center will be swept. Classes are scheduled to resume on Tuesday, January 21 following the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday Monday. The University is taking all precautions to secure the MVSU campus and working in conjunction with the Greenwood Leflore Emergency Management Agency and local, state and federal law enforcement to ensure that the Leflore County Civic Center is safe for our upcoming games. Officials ask that the public exercise the following precautions at the game – no backpacks, large purses or containers. Attendees will be subject to search upon entering the game. To ensure the safety of the MVSU campus, individuals arriving to campus should be prepared to present I.D. once entering the MVSU campus and buildings. Campus residents must show I.D. each time they enter. More information will be provided as details unfold. If you have any information regarding this threat or see any suspicious activity, contact University Police at 662.254.3478.
