MY 1991 ACCIDENT (I made the photos black-and-white so that you couldnt see how gruesome or gross the colors make it all look) The accident I had back in August 10, 1991 that not many people knew about. All this next part was basically a lot of my young teen immature self which Im glad Im out of now. I basically was angry with my mother because she was drinking and smoking and she had promised to stop for years. And she had ordered me to show someone a house that we had for rent and I was basically refusing because it wasnt my responsibility to do so. So I took away a package of cigarettes that she had. It had 12 cigarettes in there and I smoke them in the distance of about four houses which of course caused my lungs to possibly slow me down a little bit so when I jumped the fence I didnt have enough force as I usually do. So as I jumped the fence. Heres the rest of the story. I had jumped over the fence in front of my house and there was a banana tree leaf covering a somewhat of a rebar type metal rod. I jumped over at an angle which I got somewhat impaled on my way down but was able to sling out of it and it basically got me two inches behind my groin area. Once I was on the floor in pain. The pain was exactly like getting hit in the groin area which ended up lasting for about 3 to 4 hours. As I was somewhat on my knees not really knowing how far it had penetrated into my body I immediately started feeling my abdominal clinching. As in telling me that obviously there something wrong inside my body but at that time I didnt know that. One person that had just joined our family and happened to be around was my sister-in-law Oralia Lopez (aka Birdie) which somewhat heard me try to yell because I couldnt yell at all either. She help me into my room. A little while later my mother and my uncle Ernest arrived and they tried to give me some milk, V8, and water. And I basically threw up what I had eaten in the morning along with the drinks. My body was refusing everything. My mother not knowing told me to just lay down and as I laid down on my left side. And again not knowing what was going on inside my body. I was basically bleeding internally and couldve drowned to death with my blood. My left lung was filling up with blood which was making it harder for me to breathe therefore I asked my sister-in-law if she can call the ambulance. And remember Im saying all whats happening to me only because I found out after I picked the doctors brain during surgery. Ask them questions basically. Then my sister-in-law said no way because your moms going to be mad at me because its going to cost too much. Typical mexican family, seriously. So as I laid in my bed I myself had to get up and walk two steps and then crunch down to the floor because of the pain and then continue the same process for about 12 feet in order to reach a regular phone. The doctors told me that I was supposed to be in the hospital for 8 months to heal. They told me if Id walk all over the hospital that I would heal faster so I did it in six months. I think thats why I listen to doctors now. And this was at a odd time. This happened right before I had finished high school (which I had to get a homebound teacher) and just join the band (The Deans) and before I had gotten into St. Philips College and made all these cool friends that I still have today. In a lot of ways I feel that the hand of God had somewhat of something to do with this and I was angry at myself and I somewhat felt that this happened because I had done an ex-girlfriend wrong. Even though the story never got the correct outcome. In a lot of ways I basically wronged an ex-girlfriend. I admit that I did her wrong. And for me the great thing is that nothing like that has ever happened again. I learned from my first experience. I apologize to all my family for being young and immature. And I think my family as well for being there for me through all of this. And I thank God that I lived and somewhat slowed my life down after the accident. Sincerely Frank
