MY APPRECIATION; THE BEGINNING OF THE REDEMPTION JOURNEY With - TopicsExpress

MY APPRECIATION; THE BEGINNING OF THE REDEMPTION JOURNEY With lips deep in gratitude, mind muzzled in respect, and heart bowed in humility, I stand before the Most high this day to say thank you. You’re once more my king, a king, like no other, passionate about his words, committed to his dealings and of the increase of his government, there shall be no end. Thank you Sir! The road was rough, the sail was stormy and the flight was heading for a crash. But the unfettered energy, unwavering loyalty and the ever-present zeal of some men and women ensured safe landing. These persons cannot be appreciated enough. If I hire minstrels to sing their praises on mountain tops, if I give their names up for eulogies, all of these would still be labour in futility. Not just for their support for me, but for their love and cravings for a better Students’ Union. What shall I say, of the great strongholds, people who protected me, in the days of pain and pressure; The Faculty of Agriculture, Kuti Hall, The Hall of Great men, Alexander Brown Hall [Thanks for the CPR], and of course, the city on a hill, the largest hall in West Africa, Obafemi Awolowo Hall. My gratitude! To the famous sons of Lord Tedder, the noble men after the order of Sultan Bello, the great kings of Baluba kingdom, to you I say I’m grateful. The only living hall, Katanga Republic, amassing 102 votes from amidst you was something in the degree of a miracle, I say thank you to those miracle workers, may posterity pay you in good currencies. To the Queens residing in Queen Idia, and Queen Elizabeth II Hall, Royalty is a mark of greatness and good judgement, and that you have shown to all and sundry, I cannot but say, I’m grateful. To the Elders walking post-graduate streets, from the crannies of Tafawa Balewa hall to the nooks of Abdulsalam hall, I extend my love and Appreciation. Your giant strides would not be forgotten, you’re indeed Elders. To loyalists in Mellanby, who gave Premier support all the way, I cannot thank you enough. You didn’t just deliver Mellanby, you delivered University-wide support. Falode Olajide [FOS], Alfa JB, just to name a few, you have proven beyond all doubts, that brotherhood transcends blood, race and religion. Thanks for standing up for the #Redemptionagenda. When there was no money, there were men, when the was no bread, I had brethren, what shall I say of the warm solace of Baptist Students Fellowship or the encouraging Prayers of friends at UI PRAYS, that gave me succour in my feeble days, may we never disappoint Him in the days of strength. Gbemisola Osadua, Members of her visionary network, GOVN, thanks for the timely support. To my namesake, Rebecca Oluwafemi, A.K.A Pastor, young yet vibrant, your efforts in Awo hall would always be remembered, thank you so much. To all Faculty Presidents who stood by me when the chips were down, words wouldn’t be enough to thank you, but with them, I’d say thank you. I look forward to working with you for the greatness of our Union. To the silent generals, the unknown warlords, the unsung heroes of this Redemption race to you, I’m speechless. Olawuni Mustapha, Obeta Emmanuel, John Adebanjo, and my friend and brother, Teslim Ogundiran Teslim, the race was swift, the battle was fierce, the journey was long and rough, but here we at the finish line. But who says it has to be the finish line? As long as we all dream of a better Union, I’d love if we make history by working altogether, #moving_forward as one in the delivery of the rays of #Hope and the #Reality that #All_matters_end_here, in the #Redemption of our dear Union. To every UITE, who has handed me the slate to rewrite the history of our dear Union, I say thank you for the opportunity. I may not have won your vote, but I need to win your heart, your love and your support for our dear Union. To say it would be a smooth sail, would be nothing but a pack of lies, to say I’ll beat your expectations would be another bout of gain saying, to say I would do the impossible would amount to mockery of our collective psychological intelligence, but let the truth be told even though the heavens fall, as a person I cannot do it alone, I need your Faith, Hope and love. Then, together we can deliver the Union of our dreams. Ladies and gentlemen, victory is just the beginning, the journey has just begun, Redemption is the vision, and together we would achieve. Remember what starts here changes the world! ODESOLA OLUWAFEMI VICTOR [HUNTERSOLA] UISU PRESIDENT-ELECT.
