MY CLOSING THOUGHTS ON MY 15 DAY JOURNEY ON $2.25 EACH DAY! As I slowly approach my end of Live Below the Line New Zealand for P3 Foundation - Doing 15 days is something that truly tested me - I got grumpy , sluggish, lost weight, lacked motivation and well my self efficacy was real low! - Eating on $2.25 a day made me appreciate EVERYTHING! From Tea, a cracker, meat ,vegetables - life! It was good that I could cook or I knew I would be pretty doomed! The options were minimal and the flavour got dull fast.I feel Living Below the line is a conversation not just about extreme poverty but also relative poverty , child nutrition , budgeting and impact food can not only affect the body but the mind. If you are reading this just remember or think of all the meals you have had or going to have - *salivates* I do not wish anyone to feel sorry for those who are less fortunate than ourselves but rather treasure what you have and do not let it waste - Be aware. These issues are not to be kept in the dark but in the light where people like us can have the conversation and take action in ending poverty period. Thanks to Nadia and Rahul who were Living Below The Line along side me (and sorry for my own special kind of chaos that I unleashed!) Furthermore thanks for everyone who has donated - which is soo many of you , a lot of which was done anonymously? but so far we have raised $748! for community literacy programmes.- For those who still want or can : https://livebelowtheline/me/serenalal (Close in NOV) "We all have greatness in us, now let it shine" - is that a quote? if not its mine lol Also if Gianpaolo Giapo sees this - I will be probably eating a lot Giapo tomorrow! I have missed it SOO MUCH!
