MY HEALTH THOUGHTS!I think in my view if the rural roads and city streets are not pave in the balance 14 counties, the rural dwellers of these counties will sooner or later development / contract respiratory sicknesses from the dust they eat, bathe, wash, drink, dance and sleep in through the breathing in of oxygen that is highly polluted by dust on a daily basis. Recently in April of 2013 in Monrovia, the ministry of Public Works, some government officials and legislators in Montserrado whose constituencies are being pave with coal tide justified, why those dusty routes in Monrovia were urgent to be pave. Some of them said the dust was causing serious health hazards or problems to those that dwell along those routes, while some said that the dust usually dirty the clothes of the inhabitants and dust their houses walls. Even though for us it is good for the routes in Monrovia to be pave but what about the rural dwellers that live, eat, talk, bathe, sleep and breathe in the dust; all of the routes in the interior of this country are all dusty roads. For us, these are some of the social injustice we will continue to speak against. All that are provided in Monrovia to improve the livelihood of those living there should be provided for the rural dwellers if not %100.if the roads are pave in Monrovia to stop people from getting ills and stop their houses to be dirty then the roads in the rural areas, especially the highways and city streets should be pave the stop these same conditions which are affecting our people. If NTA buses are provided for students to pay fewer amounts or no money to enable them get on campus, those same buses should be provided for our rural students to enable them get on campus our questions are: a. Aren’t these rural dwellers going to be affected too with the dust health wise or by other means? b. Are the people in Monrovia lives more important than the rural dwellers? c. Don’t the legislators of the balance 14 counties that are considered the rural parts of Liberia have any lobbying power for Central government to provide social justice for the Liberians or are the legislators of those 14 counties allowing the 19 legislators to lobby with them for the betterment of their constituencies?
