MY INTELLECREATIVE CREDO, just in what interests me at this point, is this: For a modern revival / post-revival / heritage art (whatever you may like or choose to call it) to successfully make it in the modern world, especially without such non-existent thing as state donations, it must be cool. Smart, well studied, but COOL, HIP, and ROCK-n-ROLL— to the degree when you leave all your scholarship baggage under your feet and jump high and above all that solid ground in your act of creation and performance. It must be as cool, hip, and rock-n-roll as the original piece that you are reviving or referring to in your work— was in its heyday, 50, 100, 400 years ago. The only reason why that tradition or body of pieces has made it till today and has interested you and hopefully others— is exactly because it was super cool back then, and it well deserves or even requires the relevant treatment today. And yes, the humanities, the academic disciplines that is, have changed quite a bit, too, over the past few decades. You just cant do it the way you were taught (if you were, at all), you have to create new forms that are not only relevant for the modern audiences but that would create that WOW-effect. This is what the best of the creative artists in Versailles and a small Eastern European village alike were always shooting for. Be rooted, be new.
