MY NEXT LETTER TO THE EDITOR - To The Chronicle Newspaper, Laurel, MS Obama’s Predictable Speech The “post-partisan” president revealed his true colors again with his completely predictable pivot away from economic failures, to something near and dear to his community organizer heart: Income Inequality and a Federal Minimum Wage Increase. America was built by our forefathers as an idea and a Constitution. It’s the only country founded on an idea. Our rights come from nature and God, not from our government.… And this idea was founded on the principles of freedom, free enterprise, self-determination and government by consent of the governed. Jobs and the economic failure is on top of the list for most Americans. Obama’s policies are making peoples’ lives harder with Obamacare, higher taxes and more EPA, IRS and other federal regulations. The President called on Congress to solve the problems facing America. Of course, he is speaking of the Republican controlled U.S. House of Representatives. The facts are: The House of Representatives are passing bipartisan Bills left and right and it is the Democrat controlled Senate and the President standing in the way of dozens of Bills passed by the House that would put people to work. President Obama’s objective is to demonize and destroy the Republican Party. Obama does not want unity. He wants to keep the country as polarized and disoriented as possible. He constantly moves from one divisive issue to the next, from Obamacare to gun-control, from Income Inequality to raising the minimum wage, from immigrant reform to climate change. President Obama rejection of the Keystone pipeline is just another way of destroying the American Dream – a decision that has cost more than 100,000 out-of-work Americans a shot at a new, good-paying job. The Keystone pipeline is supported by the vast majority of Americans, labor unions, manufacturers, and even members of the president’s own party. In addition to the thousands of jobs that would be created, the pipeline would bring nearly one million barrels of oil a day to the United States, helping middle class families who are struggling with higher costs on everything from gas to groceries. Republicans in the House passed the Northern Route Approval Act (H.R.3) the Keystone pipeline bill. The bill is sitting in the Democratic-led Senate, along with many other pro-growth jobs measures passed by the House. Other job bills that the House of Representatives have passed are the: Offshore Energy & Jobs Act (H.R.2231); Natural Gas Pipeline Permitting Reform Act (H.R.1900); Federal Lands Jobs and Energy Security Act (H.R.1965); Energy Consumers Relief Act (H.R.1582); National Strategic and Critical Minerals Production Act (H.R.761); Coal Residuals Reuse and Management Act (H.R.2218); Bureau of Reclamation Conduit Hydropower Development Equity and Jobs Act (H.R.1963); Central Oregon Jobs and Water Security Act (H.R.2640); SKILLS Act (H.R.803); Small Business Capital Access and Job Preservation Act (H.R.1105); Working Families Flexibility Act (H.R. 1406); SKILLS Act (H.R. 803); to name a few and there are many others. These are all Republican ideas and Bills. During the State of the Union Speech, President Obama addressed almost every single one of these. But they will not be voted on in the Democrat controlled Senate, because the Democrats does not want the “Voters” to view the Republicans as the party that helped the American people. As you may have noted that I addressed “Voters” and that because the Democrat party is worried about “Their Party and Votes” and not the American people!
