MY PREDICTIONS, Asian games, 2014: (comment below with justifications if u have different views than these) League results: Group A- A1 = Malaysia (because, they r division 4 winner in recent past and have good team) A2 = China (not south korea, because south korea is new team and china have better preparations) Group B- B1 = Nepal ( no doubt, nepal will not only win but will give them the thrash of lifetime) B 2 = Maldives (not kuwait, because ive never heard kuwait playing professional cricket. Maldives are better team) Quarter final: Hongkong vs Malaysia- HK will win (because honkong is ODI nation and chances of malaysia is very minimal with the likes of good players in HK team) Srilanka vs China- SL (never imagine in dream for china to win it) Nepal vs Afghanistan- Nepal (because, although afg is good team but only captain nabi and sami shenwari are their experienced player rest all are making their debut. Nepal have best chance of winning them again.) Bangladesh vs Maldives- BD (dont make joke, maldives can never beat test nation) Semifinal: Hongkong vs Nepal- Nepal (although hk have better preparations than nepal but the fact is that hk cant tackle the quality spin attack and since incheon pitches are on slower side there will be more help to the likes of shakti and basanta) srilanka vs Bangladesh- SL (because, Bangladesh are out of form in 2014 calendar year and with captain mushfikar and star shakib not playing, make that chance of BD winning to zero.) Bronze medal playoff: HK vs Afg- Afg (because of their quality spin attack) Gold and silver medal playoff: Nepal vs Srilanka: SL (i would support and pray for nepal, but nepal have very very less chance of beating SL. Although SL team will not be of full strength, but all of them are their domestic stars+captained by lahiru thirimane, and nepal is not well prepared team with jitendra and karn not playing. a bitter truth.) NEPAL SILVER MEDALIST Some corrections to above prediction: Allrounder Shakib Al Hasan and fast bowler Rubel Hossain have been named as replacements (just 2days ago) for offspinner Sohag Gazi and fast bowler Al-Amin Hossain, who were reported for suspect actions recently.
