MY SOUTH AFRICA ADVENTURE - DAY 11 - ( Friday, June 20, 2014) - Bruce picked us up and we headed to Lion Park! That destination was perfect since we didnt see any lions during our safari in Pilanesburg. Lion Park was not just a park filled with lions. One area of the park had the herbivores: zebras, giraffes, antelopes, and other grass eating animals. And the other area had carnivores: lions, cheetahs, etc. We had a wonderful time at the park! We were able to become one with the lion baby cubs, and the giraffes. We saw several other animals as well, and then we did a game drive thru the area where the lions and cheetahs were located. The lions were not within a confined area as you drove through. You were advised to keep your windows up and under no circumstances could you get out of your car. Cheetahs were known to jump on the roof of cars trying to get inside. We got there mid morning so most of the lions were lying around sleeping. The cheetahs were alert and watchful, as if waiting for a time when they figured some fool would disobey the rules and they could attack. It was eerie, driving through the park surrounded by lions. It was an experience I wont forget.
