MY VISIT TO KUMASI MALES PRISON On Sunday, 12th of October, 2014 around 9:00am happens to be one of the saddest moments in my life. Why am I saying this? On this day, I happen to join a team of pastors to visit Kumasi Male Prisoners’ Church. Guess what I saw! As we sat in front of them, my eyes were full of tears because I found out that within the church we had prominent men, elites and people from all walks of life. Wow!what a world! There is this prominent man among the prisoners with whose physique I still have it in memory, as the church service went on , I happened to catch a glimpse of him and whenever he stirred at me from the crowd, sorrows began to grip me. OH LORD JESUS, PLEASE HAVE MERCY ON THESE SOULS AND SET THEM FREE! Then, I saw a man of God who is acquitted of a crime he knew nothing of , he has been asked to spend 40 years imprisonment. A 90 -year- old man with whom we prayed for as he was being released in that week to go back home after spending 25 years imprisonment. The question that I am asking is, how is his family and society going to accept him back as their own? If they fail to accept him, is this man not going to die out of sorrows? Hmmm! Asem sebe! Whilst we were there, we had choristers who were prisoners who sang beautifully to grace the church service. What made me happy was the fact that in spite of their presence in that DIRTY PRISON and the number of years they had to spend in that prison, they sang praises and adoration joyfully to the Lord Almighty. On the other hand , there were other category of Prisoners who looked unconcerned with their relationship with God and they have made their present circumstances overshadowed their lives to such extent that they don’t want to mingle themselves with the believers in there. As a matter of fact, these people were found cooking all sorts of food around the church. They have turned the prison yard into market and they were found selling fried fish , tomatoes puree and fresh yoghurt etc. Brethren,do we remember what Jesus said in MATTHEW 25:36-37? It’s about time Ministers of the Gospel, Church leaders and Society came together and offered help to the Christian Community in there either in cash or kind(praying for them or etc). These people need our help. KITOA BIARA NSUA. Why am I saying this, we were able to give them brushes, some used clothings , loaves of bread which were broken into pieces so that they would just have a taste of the bread but they weren’t sufficient. PLEASE! I AM ON MY KNEES AS I AM MAKING THIS HUMBLE APPEAL TO YOU.DO WELL AND TOUCH ONE PRISONER’S LIFE AND YOU WILL SEE THE REWARD YOUR FATHER IN HEAVEN WILL GRANT YOU IN LIFE. AMEN
